Fairfield University Athletics

2025: Gia Scannapieco appeared in one game during the 2025 season, picking up an at-bat as a pinch hitter against Niagara on April 11. She was one of four Fairfield seniors on the 2025 roster.


2024: Scannapieco picked up innings in seven games last season and earned her lone start against Toledo in early March. She went 1 for 3 against the Rockets, registering a single in her second plate appearance. She also picked up an at-bat in five other games including match ups with Iona and Manhattan.

2023: Scannapieco posted a .375 batting average on the season with three hits in eight at-bats. Seven of those plate appearances came as a pinch hitter, registering a .429 batting average in that role. Her three hits came in consecutive appearances, collecting a single at UConn, at Niagara, and versus Hartford. She came around to score in the Hartford game which was her only run of the season. She also picked up a walk as a pinch hitter against Central Connecticut State University which raises her on-base percentage to .444 this season. He was successful on her lone stolen base attempt, taking the extra base against Hartford.

2022:  Scannapieco earned entry into six games this season, five of which were non-conference appearances. Her lone conference game came against Monmouth University in the nightcap. She collected one at-bat in each of those games without picking up a base hit. The only game in which she played did not bat was at UConn when she served as a pinch runner.

Before Fairfield: Scannapieco came to the Fairfield University softball program after serving as an outfielder at Council Rock South High School. She also competed with the Northampton Hawks before arriving at Fairfield.
