Biography

2018: Destinee Pallotto ended the season with three straight wins, gaining a victory against Siena, Quinnipiac and Niagara before earning a no-decision against Canisius in her final regular-season appearance. Pallotto currently is currently ranked in several of Fairfield’s all-time pitching categories, including wins (3td with 48), innings pitched (4th with 590.1), appearances (3rd with 124), and strikeouts (3rd in 462). She owned a 7-3 record with a team-best 2.48 ERA against MAAC opponents, fanning 83 hitters in 67.2 innings of work. Three of her four double digit strikeout performances came against MAAC foes, namely Monmouth (10), Iona (13), and Niagara (10). Pallotto won three of her six decisions against the five tournament teams with a 3.44 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 36.2 innings pitched. From April 1 to the present, the pitcher owns a 8-2 record with a 2.06 ERA (20 ER in 67.2 IP) and 73 strikeouts. The right hander was the winning pitcher in each of Fairfield’s MAAC championship-clinching victories in 2015 and 2017, including a no-hitter in last year’s title match up with Monmouth.

2017: Pallotto put together another strong effort in postseason play by starting all six playoff games for the Stags. The right hander went 4-0 in MAAC tournament play, tossing a no-hitter in the championship game against Monmouth. She improved her MAAC tournament record to 6-1 with a 2.21 ERA and was the winning pitcher in both MAAC softball championship games. Pallotto tossed 27 of the 28 innings played by the team during the 2017 MAAC tournament. She was the work horse of the Fairfield staff, throwing 58 innings more than any other Stag hurler following the NCAA  tournament. The right hander pitched 27 of the team’s 28 innings played in the conference She was named the MAAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. She earned a start against nationally-ranked LSU in the Stags' first NCAA Tournament game of 2017 and did not allow an earned run in her seven innings of the team's 2-1 loss She is the team leader in wins with 13 and saves with 2 in addition to posting a team-best with 102 strikeouts in her 32 appearances.

2016: Pallotto picked up where she left off a year ago with 10 wins in her sophomore season. Pallotto has thrown more innings (146.0) and recorded more strikeouts (136) than any other Fairfield pitcher this season. Her 10 wins are the most she has recorded in aseason with the Stags, surpassing her nine victories in 2015. She averaged six strikeouts per MAAC outing this year (66 in 11 appearances), including a season-best 12 in a five-inning victory against Saint Peter’s. She registered seven or more strikeouts in five games this season. She did not allow a run in four of her 27 appearances, two as a starter and two as a reliever. 

2015: Pallotto collected a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie team. She won six of her final seven decisions of 2015 with the one setback coming against USC-Upstate in the NCAA tournament. The freshman went 2-0 in the MAAC tournament, tossing 14 innings in one day to push Fairfield to the conference title. She struck out 11 hitters in her 14 innings. She was the only Stag above .500 during the season, finishing with an 11-9 record. She posted three wins the last week of the regular season, including Sacred Heart, Iona, and Manhattan. Against the MAAC, Pallotto has a 6-1 record with a 2.95 ERA, fanning 41 batters in 54.2 innings. She struck out eight hitters in the Manhattan game, surpassing her previous high of seven strikeouts set against Monmouth on April 19. She tossed her first complete-game shutout one game earlier, scattering four hits and fanning five hitters in a victory over Iona. Pallotto has seen limited time as a reliever, tossing three innings against UConn in her last appearance. Three of her first four appearances were as a reliever but she started 19 of her final 26 appearances. Pallotto struck out five or more hitters in four games, all of which came in the final six games (7 at Monmouth, 5 at Marist, 4 vs. Iona, 8 vs. Manhattan).

Before Fairfield: Pallotto joins the Fairfield softball program as a pitcher and figures to be in the rotation when the spring season starts. She comes to the team after graduating from Guajome Park Academy where she excelled both as a pitcher and as a hitter. The Oceanside native earned All Citrus League first team honors for three seasons (2012-14). She capped her scholastic career as the league’s Pitcher of the Year in 2014. The pitcher also collected the team’s most valuable player award three times. In the batter’s box, she was the top hitter in San Diego County as a junior and as a senior. She led the Citrus League in runs, RBI, doubles, slugging percentage, and batting average. Pallotto also competed with the SoCal Breakers, spending four seasons with the club team. Pallotto lists business as her major at Fairfield University.
