Placed third in the 400 SCM freestyle and 200 SCM butterfly in the Oct. 28 dual meet win over Monmouth
Placed third in the 200 SCM and 800 SCM freestyle events in the Jan. 5 dual meet vs. Saint Peter’s
Placed third in the 800 SCM freestyle in the Jan. 12 dual meet win over St. Francis Brooklyn
Placed third in the 1000y freestyle in the Jan. 20 dual meet at Iona

2016-17: Set two personal bests at both the Terrier Invitational and MAAC Championships. In November, recorded his fastest times in the 400 IM (4:22.35) and 200 butterfly (2:04.90). At the MAAC Championships, swam 4:48.72 in the 500 freestyle and 16:41.61 in the 1650 freestyle. His time in the 500 is ninth best in program history while his time in the 1650 is seventh fastest. 

Before Fairfield: At Centerville High School, Sparks was a member of the National Honor Society, the German National Honor Society, and graduated with honors. In the pool, his team as a four-time GWOC divisional, conference, and sectional champion. And also a two-time district runner-up. Sparks was a four-year district qualifier, a four-year letterman, and named to the Scholar-Athlete Society.

Personal: Son of Andrew and Nancy Sparks… Has one sister, Emily (22)… Major is Marketing.
