Biography

2024 Season: Thomas Drillien finished his Fairfield career as one of the program’s top scorers, finishing in a tie for seventh all-time with 18 goals. He also picked up eight assists over his five seasons with the program, giving him 34 career points. Drillien was responsible for three goals and an assist for seven points in 2024, starting his season off with a goal and an assist against Lafayette. He later scored the team’s lone goal in a pair of games, netting one against both LIU and Quinnipiac. Nine of 13 shots were on the mark resulting in a .692 percentage. Drillien earned a berth to the MAAC All-Academic team for his achievement in the classroom.

2023 Season: Drillien capped his Fairfield career with another outstanding offensive season, posting four goals and two assists for 10 points overall. He was also the team’s top scorer in conference play, registering three goals and two assists for eight points. He posted the game-winning goal against LIU which were his only non-conference points on the season. Drillien started 15 of his 16 appearances, coming off the bench against Niagara. He was the team’s most active offensive player, taking a team-high 32 shots with 15 being on net.

2021 Season: Drillien continued his offensive success which began with his MAAC All-Rookie season as a freshman, earning All-MAAC second team honors as a sophomore.  The forward placed second among his teammates with seven goals and five assists for 19 points, including a deciding goal against Niagara in the regular season. He was responsible for both goals in the Stags 2-2 draw with Army West Point, and later added a goal Niagara, Monmouth, Rider, and Canisius during the regular season. All five of his assists came against MAAC opponents including three straight matches against Siena College, Manhattan College, and Iona College. Drillien was the team’s most accurate attacker, putting 19 of his 35 shots on target (.543 on goal percentage).

2020-21 Season: Drillen secured the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s (MAAC) Co-Rookie of the Year award after scoring two goals in his eight starts as a freshman. He picked up a goal at Saint Peter’s during the regular season and added the team’s lone goal in a 2-1 setback against Quinnipiac in the MAAC Championship semifinals. He was among the team leaders with 18 shots and put seven  of those attempts on goal.
