2020-21: Ryan Ruff earned playing time in three games during the 2020-21 season, beginning with entry in the team’s 2-1 win at Monmouth on April 1. He followed up with two more appearances, serving as a reserve at Rider before gaining his first start of the campaign against Manhattan in the home finale.

2019: Ruff made his way into three games during the 2019 season with two of those appearances coming against MAAC foes. His first game was against New Hampshire in September before collecting a pair of appearances against Siena and Canisius.

2018: .Ruff posed a threat whenever he was on the pitch, contributing both defensively and offensively. In front of the Stags goal, Ruff defended with tenacity, coming off the bench to bolster the Stags' late game efforts. Fairfield registered three shutouts during his nine appearances, all of which came against MAAC opponents. The sophomore also managed to record a point offensively during the year, setting up one of the team's two goals against the College of Charleston.Ruff has scored in both of his seasons with the Stags, coming off a goal and an assist as part of his rookie season. Six of his nine appearances came against MAAC foes.

2017: Ruff played in eight games during the 2017 campaign, serving as a reserve in each of his appearances. His first appearance came at the University of Portland, the first of four non-conference nods. He also gained entry in four conference games, all of which came over the final three weeks of the regular season. The freshman posted a goal and an assist during his inaugural season, the first point coming off a pass on the team’s lone goal against Hartwick. He added his first collegiate goal  in a 2-1 victory against Monmouth, posting the deciding goal with under two minutes left in overtime.

Before Fairfield: Ruff played for Beachside SC beginning with the U-12 team. He was part of the Connecticut State Cup championship team as well as the Region USYS championship team.
