Before Fairfield: McLaren joins the Stags’ soccer program as a junior after playing two seasons at Herkimer Community College. He attended Central High School in Bridgeport before heading to Herkimer. McLaren excelled at both the junior college and high school levels. Over the last two years, the forward tallied 85 points with 26 goals and 33 assists. He established the school record for assists and was named the regional most valuable player as a member of the Herkimer program. In high school, McLaren completed his career with 58 goals and 45 assists for 161 career points at Central High School. He set the school standards for career goals and points. He recorded 15 goals and 11 assists as s junior and improved on that total with 25 goals and 10 assists in his senior campaign. The Bridgeport native was the FCIAC most valuable player as a senior and made the first time for All-Conference, All-State, and All-New England. He lists international studies as his major.
