Biography

2010: Rodrigues played in 17 of the team’s 18 games in 2010, missing only the Northeastern game in early September. He started 14 of his 17 appearances, coming off the bench against Canisius, Siena, and Rider. Rodrigues was the team’s co-leader in goals scored with three and total points with seven. He tallied a point in three games, one of which was a multiple-point effort. The forward picked up an assist on the game-winning goal of a double-overtime victory against Yale. He followed up with a goal in the team’s 3-1 victory against Marist, netting the team’s opening goal in the 15th minute. He finished with two goals in a 4-1 win versus Manhattan, one of only two Fairfield student-athletes to score two goals in a game in 2010.

2009: Rodrigues worked his way into the lineup all season long, gaining eight starts in 18 appearances. Six of his eight starts were against conference foes, which he turned into five of his seven points on the season. His only non-conference points came as a goal in the 1-0 win over Northeastern, his only game-winning goal of the season. He followed up with a game in a 3-0 decision against Saint Peter’s and a goal in the 5-1 win over Rider. He tallied his final point of the season with his only assist in the 2-0 win over Canisius. Rodrigues led all first-year Fairfield student-athletes with seven points, and was one of five Stags to have a game-winning goal.

Before Fairfield
: Rodrigues will become a member of the Stags soccer program this year, looking to earn quality minutes at the forward position. His ability to score goals was evident as a member of the Mineola High School soccer team, where he netted 50 goals and dished off 26 assists for 126 total points in four years. As a junior, Rodrigues scored 13 goals with six assists, and improved on those numbers with 14 goals and seven assists as a senior. He was a three-time All-Conference player, as well as an All-State and All-Region student-athlete. Newsday placed the forward on their 2008 All-Long Island team. He was named the conference player of the year as a senior.
