Biography

2016: MAAC All-Academic Lindgren was one of the team’s top defenders throughout his career and the 2016 season was one of his best on the back line. He started all 16 of his appearances, missing only the team’s home game against Niagara. He was on the pitch for all three of the team’s shutouts and also helped by being part of the team defense that allowed 1.34 goals per game. Lindgren was also effective offensively, making runs that resulted in a pair of goals. He scored the game-winning goal in the team’s 3-1 win against Marist, and assisted on the game-winner in the Stags’ 2-1 victory over Northeastern.

2015:MAAC All-Academic Lindgren started all but two of his games played during the season, coming off the bench at Florida Atlantic and at Iona. The defender missed the team’s first two MAAC games against Manhattan and Canisius before returning for the Iona game. He played the final nine games of the campaign, starting the final eight contests. Lindgren proved to be one of the team’s key defenders down the stretch, being on the pitch for six of the team’s seven shuoutswhich included three straight against Siena, Monmouth, and Quinnipiac. Lindgren was also utilized up front, taking five shots with two attempts forcing a save.

2014: MAAC All-Academic Lindgren kept his streak intact by appearing in all 20 games during his sophomore year, giving him a streak of 36 straight appearances. He started all of the team's games in 2014, giving him a start in each of his career games. The defender was part of one of the top defenses in the nation as the Stags led the nation in shutout percentage over the 19-game schedule. Fairfield posted 13 shutouts resulting in a 0.65 percentage. Lindgren also made a contribution up front, taking five shots overall with one against New Hampshire, Marist, Manhattan, Iona, and Quinnipiac.

2013: Lindgren did not miss a game in his freshman season, getting the starting nod in each of the team’s 16 games. He was one of two freshmen to start every game in 2013. He was on the pitch for all four of the team’s shutouts, including a 1-0 win over Yale in just his third collegiate match. The defender was a key component for the Stags on a unit that among the top defensive teams in the MAAC. Lindgren also contributed offensively with a pair of goals for four points. He scored a goal in each of his first two career shots, netting a goal against UMass and another versus UMass Lowell one game later. Lindgren ended the season with four shots, also making an attempt in draws against Monmouth (1-1) and Siena (1-1). He was honored as Fairfield University’s Freshman of the Year last April.
