2019: Nordgard continued to play a key role in the Stags’ back four with his 17 starts as a defender which garnered him a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team. He was on the pitch for all six shutouts as the Fairfield defense led the MAAC with a 1.22 goals allowed average. The unit allowed just 22 goals in their 17 outings which was also a conference best total. Nordgard also contributed up front and made several impressive runs to goal from his defensive position. He scored one goal during the 2019 campaign, netting the first of the team’s three goals in a shutout of Siena College. He also posted an additional six shots during the season for a total of seven shots which ranked first among all Fairfield defenders.


2018: Marcus Nordgard appeared in seven games during the campaign, starting five of those contests. His first start came against nationally-ranked UNCW, a game which the Stags won by a 2-1 margin. The defender was a key member of the team's stifling play that allowed just five goals during his seven games played. The team earned three shutouts during his time on the pitch, a testment to his effectiveness in the Stags' defensive third.  While he did not accumulate any points, he always managed to apply pressure offensively when he was in the game. Nordgard took eight shots in 2018 with four of those being on target. 

2017: Nordgard was a key member of the Stags defensive efforts last season, a unit that posted nine shutouts in 20 games played. The defender started all 20 of his appearances, one of five student athletes to gain entry into every game on the 2017 schedule. In addition to his defensive play, Nordgard also posted a pair of goals on seven shots including the game winner against Manhattan. He also posted a goals in the team’s 3-2 loss against Canisius. Nordgard put three of his seven attempts on goal for a .429 percentage.

Before Fairfield: Nordgard joins the Fairfield University soccer team after spending a season at Hartwick College. While at Hartwick, Nordgard started 11 of his 15 appearances and tallied a goal and an assist. His goal came in a 3-0 win over Bryant while his assist was part of a 4-0 win over Robert Morris. Before coming to Fairfield, Nordgard attended Oeregaaard Gymnasium and played for Boldklubben af 93 and won the East Regional Youth Cup during his stay.
