Biography

2018: Joseph Meyer recorded a personal best seven points during the 2018 season, sporting three goals and one assist over his 18 starts. He was responsible for the team's lone goal at St. John's, his only points until October. He posted the remainder of his points from October 10 through November 8, starting with an assist against Iona. He also added a game-winning goal against Siena before posting the deciding goal in a victory against Manhattan. He was one of three Stags with more than one game-winning goal, joining Diego Casielles (3) and Jonathan Filipe (3). 

2017: Meyer remained a regular in the lineup during his sophomore season, starting 15 of his 17 appearances. He received the nod for the starting 11 in his first 14 games played before coming off the bench for the two MAAC tournament games against Quinnipiac and Rider. He returned to the starting lineup for the NCAA tournament match against New Hampshire. Meyer tallied a pair of assists during the year, pitching in against Robert Morris and the deciding goal against Manhattan. He managed 10 shots during the season, four of which forced saves by the goalkeeper. He earned a spot on the MAAC All-Academic Team.

2016: Meyer was a regular in the midfield during 2016, collecting 15 appearances in his rookie season. He started the final two games of the season, giving him four starts through the year. Meyer posted a goal on his first shot on goal of the season, finding the back of the net against Marist in a 3-1 win. He took five shots overall with three being on target, including one of two against Quinnipiac in the season finale. Meyer began the year by coming off the bench in his first five appearances, but started two of the next four contests including the Hartwick and Saint Peter’s games.

Before Fairfield: Joseph Meyer joins the Fairfield University men's soccer program in 2016 after graduating from St. Benedict's Prep (N.J.). The midfielder was part of the national championship team in 2014 after winning the New Jersey State Prep Championship that same year. He earned All-State Prep honors during his career. He finished his four-year stay at St. Benedict's Prep with four goals and eight assists including a pair of goals and six assists as a senior.
