Biography

2009: Kaufman played in eight games before an injury forced him out of the lineup for the remainder of the season. He started the first three games before holding a reserve role over the next five games. Seven of his eight games were against non-conference opponents with his lone MAAC appearance coming at Marist on October 9. Kaufman picked up a pair of assists in his limited run as a junior. He set up the team’s lone goal in a 2-1 setback to Towson University, and picked up another assist in a 2-1 victory against New Hampshire. He attempted one shot which came against Albany.  

2008
: Kaufman saved the best for last when he scored his first career goal to solidify Fairfield's 3-0 win over Siena in the final regular season game. The sophomore sent a shot into the upper corner to make the score 3-0 late in the second half. It marked the first points scored by the defensive midfielder since he posted an assist in a 3-1 victory against Marist. Kaufman became more of an offensive threat late in the year, taking five of his seven shots over the final four games. He started 14 of his 17 appearances in 2008, coming off the bench against Towson, Monmouth, and Iona. He ended the season by getting a start in the final nine games. Kaufman established personal bests for career starts and career appearances. 

2007
: Kaufman came off the bench in 12 games last season, making his debut against Boston College. The midfielder played in six of the team's nine MAAC games, plus both conference tournament contests. He tallied his only point of the season with an assist in the Stags 3-1 win over Marist College which sent the team to the MAAC tourney semifinals. He took three shots during the season, two at Harvard and one against Marist (regular season). He was also on the field for seven of the team's 10 shutouts, including four straight from October 5-26. 

Before Fairfield
: Kaufman came to Fairfield via Worcester Academy in Massachusetts. He played a pivotal role in Worcester Academy's success over the last four seasons. His efforts on the pitch enabled him to receive All-State honors from the Boston Globe, as well as All-New England Prep honors. He was also selected as a Nepsac All-Star in 2006.
