Biography

2016: Martin played a majority of the minutes in goal for the Stags, appearing in 14 games and accumulating 1321 minutes. He posted a 1.09 goals against average by making 44 saves (.733 save percentage) with three shutouts. The goalkeeper allowed one goal or less in 10 of his 14 appearances, and registered five or more saves four times. Martin collected a season-high six saves against Manhattan in the team’s home finale, a 3-3 draw with the Jaspers. The Stags owned a 2-0-2 record when he reached the five-save mark, picking up wins against Saint Peter’s and Marist under those circumstances. He earned shutouts against at Lafayette (2-0) and at Saint Peter’s (2-0) as well as a home win against Iona (1-0).

2015: Martin contributed as a reserve during his junior season and appeared in one game. He entered the match as a field player, garnering minutes in a scoreless draw with Monmouth. The appearance represented his first outside the goalkeeper’s box. He also served as the team’s back-up goalkeeper but did not collect any minutes between the posts in 2015.

2014: Martin appeared in three games as a sophomore and finished the campaign wtih a 1.79 goals against average. He picked up his only start of the season in November and made four saves as the Stags dropped a 2-0 decision to Quinnipiac. He played just over 60 minutes in the team's 1-1 draw with Iona, making two saves in the contest. For the season, Martin registered a .667 save percentage (six saves, three goals allowed). 

2013: Martin joined the starting lineup in the season opener and never relinquished control of his line, starting all 16 games and playing all but 45 minutes of the team’s 1,506 minutes. In his first career start, Martin made three saves in a 1-1 tie with Hartwick. After a loss to Northeastern, the goalkeeper posted back-to-back five-save shutouts in road wins against Yale and UMass. The rookie would go on to post two more shutouts later in the year, collecting a clean sheet against Rider and Saint Peter’s in MAAC play. Martin made 54 saves in 16 games, posting five or more saves in five games. He registered a personal-best seven saves in a 1-1 draw with Siena at home on October 23. Martin finished his season with a 1.29 goals against average with a .720 save percentage (21 goals allowed). Offensively, Martin was credited with an assist on the team’s game-winning goal in a 3-1 decision over UMass Lowell.
