Biography

2011: Zuniga entered 10 games in 2011, three games at home, three on the road, and all four  postseason games. In his first NCAA tournament appearance, Zuniga scored a goal as a reserve, giving the Stags a 1-0 lead over Brown with a first-half goal. He came off the bench in each of his appearances, including the regular-season finale against Saint Peter’s. In that game, the freshman scored his first collegiate points with a goal off a free kick in the first half. It was his only shot of the season. He spent most of his time providing support in the center of the pitch.

Before Fairfield: Zuniga comes to Fairfield University via Norwalk High School where he helped the soccer team post one of the best regular-season records in school history. Zuniga led Norwalk High School to a 13-2 record in 2010 and a berth in the second round of the Class LL state tournament. A three-year starter, Zuniga garnered All-State and All-FCIAC first team honors as a senior. Postseason play was nothing new under Zuniga as the midfielder led his team to four state tournaments and 38 victories. He was part of an offense that outscored the opposition by a 70-16 margin in 2010. In addition to his scholastic play, Zuniga played eight years wtih the Beachside Soccer Club.
