2019: Diallo Simon-Ponte split his time between performing as a starter and as a reserve. He began the year by coming off the bench for his first nine appearances but ended the campaign with six straight starts against MAAC opponents. He tallied seven points during the season, all coming against conference opponents. Simon-Ponte opened his scoring ledger with the team’s only goal against Marist. He followed up with another goal in the next game, a 3-1 win over Monmouth. The midfielder added his assist in a victory against Siena before closing out the season with a goal at Niagara in the season finale.

2018  Simon-Ponte continued to contribute both as a starter and as a reserve, a trend that he has maintained throughout his career with the Stags. During this campaign, Simon-Ponte was responsible for one goal over his 13 appearances, netting the deciding goal in a 2-1 win over NIagara which was also the team's conference opener. He garnered four starts as part of the campaign, receving the nod against St. John's, Yale, Niagara, and Monmouth. Simon-Ponte posted seven shots on the season with two of those attempts being on goal. 

2017  Simon-Ponte scored the team’s lone goal in the 2017 MAAC Championship game, a result which earned the Stags to its NCAA Tournament bid. It was his only goal of the season but not his only points as the midfielder also tallied an assist in the team’s 3-0 win over Rider, a win that clinched the regular-season title for Fairfield. Simon-Ponte collected six of his eight starts over the final seven games of the 2017 campaign including the NCAA tournament match with New Hampshire. He took six shots during the season with two of those attempts being on target. His first start of the year came against Lafayette, the first of two straight berths among the starting 11.

2016: Simon-Ponte became a regular in the lineup from the onset of the 2016 season, appearing in each of the first three games. The midfielder served his teammates as a reserve in his first five appearances before earning his first start against Hartwick at home. He ended the season as a starter in seven of his final eight games. The rookie picked up his first collegiate point with an assist in the team’s 3-1 win against Marist College. Simon-Ponte took five shots in his 13 appearances, placing two of those attempts on goal.

Before Fairfield: Diallo Simon-Ponte comes to Fairfield University after graduating from YSC Academy in South Brunswick. He was a member of the Philadelphia Union U18 and U16 Academy teams and also played club with Continental FC during the 2014-15 campaign. He was selected for the 2013 Region I ODP Poll and was part of the 2014 Futsal Northeast Regional Championship team. In the classroom, Simon-Ponte was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
