2016: Wignall ended his senior season as the team’s top scorer with five goals and an assist for 11 points. He was the team’s only student-athlete to reach double figures in the scoring column. The midfielder recorded a goal in five of his first 10 games played, including the game tying goal against Houston Baptist. He scored in back-to-back games with a goal at Lafayette and at Fordham. All five of his goals came away from the Fairfield campus, including games at Siena and Saint Peter’s. Wignall posted a point at home when he assisted on one of the team’s goals in a 3-3 draw with Manhattan. He tallied one of the team’s two penalty kick goals, scoring from the spot at Lafayette.
2015: Wignall continued his emergence as one of the conference’s top forwards, netting four goals and three assists for 11 points in 2015. The forward recorded a point in six of his 17 appearances, five of which came as a starter. He posted a personal-best three points at Florida Atlantic, his only game as a reserve. He started the season with an assist on the team’s first goal in a 2-2 tie with 12th-ranked UMBC. He also picked up points against Fordham, Iona, Siena, and Saint Peter’s. His 18 shots on goal were second among his teammates, putting 42 percent of his attempts on target. He led the team with two-game winning goals, netting the deciding goal against Siena and Saint Peter’s.
2014: MAAC All-Rookie Ben Wignall did not start his first two collegiate games, but went on to get the nod in the final 18 games of the season. His ability to score goals made him a mainstay i the lineup. He ended the campaign with four goals which included two game winners. His first collegiate points came in a 1-0 victory against Yale University. His final three goals came against MAAC opponents, starting with a goal in the 3-2 victory over Manhattan. He tacked on his second game winner when he scored the game's lone goal against Canisius before finishing the campaign with a goal in a 1-1 draw with Iona. Wignall secured 37 shots in 2014 with 15 of those attempts being on goal.
Before Fairfield: Ben Wignall became a part of the Fairfield University men's soccer team after attending Manor College of Technology in England.
