Biography

2018: NEIBA Second Team…All-MAAC First Team… MAAC All-Academic Team…Moved from catcher to third base during the year and had his best offensive season of his career, finishing with a .346 average which included a team-best .372 clip in conference games…Ended the season by recording a hit in 21 of his final 22 games where he hit .402 and scored 14 runs (4/11 – 5/18)…Enjoyed a 14-game hitting streak when he maintained a .478 batting average with four-hit games against Sacred Heart (4/24) and at Marist (4/28)…Scored a season-high four runs against Sacred Heart (4/24).

2017: MAAC All-Academic Team…Started a career-high 38 games as the team’s first baseman…Tied a program record by belting three home runs at Hofstra, the first Stag since Mike Svab in 1987 to accomplish the feat. Coincidentally, both were done on the same day (4/11)…Finished one RBI shy of the single game record as he drove in eight against the Pride…Recorded a .371 on-base-percentage.

2016: MAAC All-Academic Team…Was the team’s unsung hero in several games coming off the bench…Drove in the tying run in the ninth inning and the eventual game-winning run in the 14th inning in the marathon win at Iona (4/8)…Worked out a 10-pitch walk in his only at-bat which forced in an insurance run in the series win at Monmouth (5/15)…Broke the tie with a pinch hit single in the eighth inning against Quinnipiac (5/20)…Hit .346 with runners in scoring position and led the team with four pinch hits during the season.

2015: Batted .462 during the first seven games of his collegiate career including a career-high three hit performance at NYIT (3/18)…Had seven defensive assists behind the plate…Started 11 of his 22 games during his rookie season.

High School: Earned four varsity letters at Berlin High School … A two-time All-Central Connecticut Conference selection … A two-time Connecticut High School Coaching Association All-Star … Served as team captain and helped the Redcoats to a CCC Championship … Also lettered in football and basketball … Member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Scott and Carmella Williams … Has one sibling … Uncle, Mauro Gozzo, was a member of the New York Mets organization … Major is biology.
