Biography

2019-20
Vincent Eze emerged as one of the top rebounders in the MAAC, ranking among the conference leaders in several categories. The graduate student transfer placed 10th in rebounding with his 5.8 average and fifth among MAAC student-athletes with 2.1 offensive rebounds per game. He averaged 6.0 rebounds per MAAC game which ranked ninth in the conference. He came off the bench for his first two games as a Stag but finished the year as a starter over the final 30 contests. He was the team’s most accurate shooter with his .495 field goal percentage, a number enhanced by his 10 games in which he shot 60 percent or better from the floor. He tallied 10 or more points in 10 games, highlighted by a season-best 16 points at Wagner and at Niagara in consecutive games. Those performances were part of a season-best four straight games with double-digit scoring totals, averaging 13.7 points per game during the stretch. He registered a pair of double-doubles in 2019-20 with 10 points and 13 rebounds against Texas A&M and 16 points and 10 rebounds at Wagner. He also reached double figures in rebounding by collecting 11 rebounds against Niagara and 10 caroms at Monmouth.


Before Fairfield:
Eze spent the last four seasons at the University of Maine which includes a redshirt season during the 2015-16 campaign. Last season, the forward earned 19 starts through his 32 appearances which he turned into a 6.8 scoring average and 4.2 rebounds per contest. He started the first three games of the 2018-19 season highlighted by a 10-rebound effort in the season opener at Denver.  He would later surpass that total with 11 rebounds in a start against Binghamton and completed the double-double with 22 points in 38 minutes. Eze started seven of the last eight games and averaged 12 points per game during that stretch. He ended the season with a 6.8 scoring average and a 4.2 rebounding mark in 19.2 minutes per game. He missed his sophomore season due to injury after playing 32 games with 24 starts as a freshman. He was one of four players to play in every game during the 2016-17 campaign and averaged six points per game. He posted two double doubles as a freshman with 12 points and 11 rebounds against Stony Brook and 10 points with 13 rebounds versus Albany. He tallied season-high 15 points against UMBC and at New Hampshire in his rookie campaign, two of his eight double-digit scoring games that season.
