Biography

2017: All-MAAC Second Team…NEIBA Second Team…MAAC Player of the Week (4/25)…MAAC All-Academic Team…Was the Stags’ biggest power hitters, setting career-highs in almost every offensive category including: average (.330), hits (67), RBI (46), and homers (seven)…Finished the season on an eight-game hitting streak where he hit .378 (14-for-37) with 13 RBI…His 46 RBI was the most by a Stag in seven years and tied for the fourth-most in program history…Collected four hits and finished a homer shy of hitting for the cycle at Siena (4/23).

2016: All-MAAC Second Team…MAAC Player of the Week (3/1)…The team’s designated hitter finished second on the team with a .434 slugging percentage with five home runs, nine doubles, and three triples during his breakout campaign…Hit .345 over his last 25 games (30-for-87) and a .552 slugging percentage (4/20 – 6/4)…Earned first career MAAC Player of the Week award after scoring seven runs with two homers and four RBI during the first weekend of the season…Knocked a season-high four hits with three RBI in the win against Stony Brook (4/27)…Reached base five times with four walks and a hit in the 14-inning win at Iona (4/8)…Hit two late home runs to help the Stags close out victories at Monmouth (5/14) and in the MAAC Tournament against Manhattan (5/25)…Had a 14-game stretch where he hit .429 (21-for-49) and notched at least one hit in 12 of those 14 games (4/19 – 5/8)…Clubbed three hits in the NCAA Regionals including two hits against Dallas Baptist (6/3 – 6/4).

2015: Racked up a career-high in almost every category, finishing with a .262 average in the 40 games he appeared in…Had the biggest hit of his season, lining the game-winning single against Sacred Heart, the only walk-off win for the Stags (4/28)…Finished a triple short of the cycle in the series finale against Saint Peter’s, tying a season-high with three hits…Batted .545 (6-for-11) with a RBI and three runs scored in the series against the Peacocks…Had a season-high three RBI with a clear the bases triple against No. 1 Florida…Had a career-long 10 game hitting streak where he hit .452 (14-for-31), raising his average to a season-high .286…Scored four runs with three hits against NYIT (3/18)...Had the same number of hits in 2015 (28) as he did at-bats in 2014 (28). 

Summer League: A Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League All-Star for the Shelter Island Bucks in Summer 2014.

2014: Appeared in 13 games with nine starts … Had four hits, three walks, and five RBIs … Drove in two runs at NYIT … Notched several firsts at George Mason, going 2-for-4 with a run driven in … Made collegiate debut at North Florida.

High School: Earned four varsity letters at St. Dominic ... Hit .300 with three homers and more than 20 RBI as a senior ... Also lettered in basketball ... Member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. 

Personal: Son of Joe Scocca and Leslie Medina-Scocca ... Major is business management.
