2021 Season: Ymke Huisman continued to play a role in the Stags success as a midfielder, starting every game played by the team in the 2021 fall season. Her ability to make offensive runs from the defensive third made her a valuable player in the Stags game plan. The midfielder garnered two assists during the season, setting up  a goal against both Yale University and Bryant University. Defensively, she kept the opposition at bay in the middle of the field and a times the final third of the pitch. Huisman also performed well academically with a  berth to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.

2020-21 Season: Ymke Huisman played in all seven games during the 2020-21 season, serving six times as a starter. She was a reserve during the Hofstra game. She gained quality minutes throughout the season, playing more than 30 minutes in five of her seven appearances. Huisman managed to register four shots during the season as a midfielder, putting one of those attempts on goal. She was most active during the Bryant contest, taking three of her shots in the game.

2019 Season: Huisman started the first 10 games of the season before finishing the year with 11 reserve appearances over the final 12 contests. Her dependability made her a true asset to the team, earning quality minutes in each of her appearances. Huisman scored one goal during the 2019 campaign, netting one of the team’s three goals in a victory at Wagner. She took six shots during the season, collecting one against Indiana, Northeastern, Holy Cross, Bryant, Wagner, and Merrimack. Three of her shots were on target, giving her a 50 percent percentage.

2018 Season: Huisman provided much needed support in the midfield during the 2018 campaign, appearing in all 21 games as a reserve. Still, she was constantly involved in the middle third of the pitch and often contributed to the team’s defensive success. Huisman had some opportunities in the offensive circle, taking two shots and putting one of those attempts on goal.

Before Fairfield: Huisman hails from Valkenswaard, a small town in the south of the Netherlands where she played midfield for her club field hockey team, H.O.D. Valkenswaard since she was six years old.  She was selected to attend the KNHB Hockey Academy at Oranje-Zwart and was named to the South of Netherlands team by the Dutch National Hockey federation.  She attended school at SG Were Di where she was an honors student.
