2024 Season: Maura Somers completed her second season in a Fairfield uniform, gathering minutes in eight games during the 2024 season. She appeared in three of the team’s five November games including time in the NEC Championship game which sent the Stags to the NCAA Championship. She was part of the lineup in the season opener against Bryant as well as the season finale at Delaware.

2023 Season: Somers did not appear in any matches during the 2023 season but should challenge for quality minutes in the upcoming season.

Before Fairfield: Maura Somers should contribute from the midfield after playing the position at Eastern Regional High School. A former member of the Princeton Hockey Club, Somers was decorated throughout her career both on the pitch and in the classroom. She secured a berth to the All-Conference first team which led her to a spot on the All-South Jersey second team. She was also a selection for the South Jersey Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior All-Star Coaches Cup. In the classroom, Somers was selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) High School National Academic Squad as a Scholar of Distinction. She was also the recipient of the Eastern Regional Varsity Scholar-Athlete Award after posting the highest GPA on the field hockey team.
