2010:
Started 18-19 games for the Stags due to an injury before their season opener against Westchester. Emerged as the team’s top offensive threat after doubling her season points in three games against Brown, St. Joes, and Albany finishing the three game stint with 12 points. Her season high came against their 4-1 decision over St. Joseph’s as she played a part in each of the four tallies finishing with three goals and an assist for seven points. Westenberg received America East Co-Player of the Week after her seven point week. The forward finished at the top of the scoring list in the 2010 season with 11 goals and finished with a team leading 28 points, which doubled her 2009 total points. She also had six assists on the season, good for second on the team, and led the team with four game winning goals. Westenberg is now fifth on the all-time goals scored with 23, and tied for fifth with 11 goals in a single season as she enters next season with the most starts on the team. She finished the 2010 season with several post season accolades including All-America East Second Team, NFHCA All-Region Second Team, and America East All-Academic Team, which is the third consecutive season she has earned the Academic honor.
2009: Westenberg started all 17 games last season, giving her 34 career starts in 35 appearances. She tallied a team-high 12 points with six goals, one of which was a game-winner. She posted the deciding score in the Bryant game, her first career game-winning goal. She scored at least one goal in five different games, highlighted by a two-goal performance in the overtime win against Ball State University. The four points scored in the Ball State game tied her personal-best for points and goals ina a game. Five of her goals came in non-conference play, with her only America East goal coming against Albany. She capped her season by collecting NFHCA National Academic Squad accolades, her first appearance on the team.
2008: Westenberg tallied 15 points in 18 appearances, tying her for the team lead with senior Emily Janis for top scoring honors. She netted six goals and added three assists, scoring in six contests. As a freshman, Westenberg picked up a spot on the All-America East team, one of two Stags to earn the honor. She started 17 games, coming off the bench against Siena. In the Siena game, she tallied a personal-best four points with a goal and two assists in a 5-1 victory. She scored a goal in three of her first five collegiate games, beginning with a goal against Holy Cross. She led the team with 44 shots in 18 games, averaging nearly 2.5 shots per game.
Before Fairfield: Westenberg brought a great deal of international experience with her, including time with both high school and club teams. She was a member of the Maeriant Lyceum field hockey team. In 2006, her team captured The Hague regional high school tournament title. In the Shell hockey tournament (District), the team qualified for the national tournament several times during her career. With the high school team, Westenberg played outside right and left as well as right center. She ranked among the team's leading scorers for both goals and assists. Westenberg also played with the Hockey Club Klein Zwitserland (HCKZ), a prominent club in The Hague. She worked her way through the different levels of the program, which includes more than 1,500 members. After working her way through the B levels, Westenberg played for the A1 team in national competition, the top hockey level in The Netherlands. Throughout her career with HCKZ, she has played against international competition which includes opponents from Germany and England.
