2016: All-MAAC First Team… MAAC All-Championship Team… Started all 21 games for the Stags along the back line. The senior captain recorded her first career goal on October 29 on Senior Day against LIU Brooklyn. The defender also tallied the fourth most assists on the team with a total of seven.
2015: All-MAAC Second Team...Matties appeared in all 19 games for the Stags and earned 16 starts. She recorded one assist this season at Providence on September 27. The junior had a tremendous defensive performance in the MAAC Championship game to help shutout Quinnipiac.
2014: America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Matties had a stellar sophomore campaign for Fairfield, starting in all 19 contests on the defensive line. Matties was a fixture in the defensive unit and recorded one defensive save against Maine.
2013: Matties served on the defensive line for the Stags. The rookie started in the remaining 17 games after starting in the season opener against Lehigh on August 30.
Before Fairfield: Matties played for Saratoga Springs High School where she was named to the Student Athlete High Honor Roll for four years. She was selected for the First Team Suburban Council and the Second Team Suburban Council. Matties received the Rotary Award and was a two year member of the National Honor Society. She also played five club seasons for Adirondack Field Hockey throughout which she helped her team rank seventh in the nation, win bronze at Empires, win silver at the Disney Showcase, and silver at the National Indoor Tournament.
Personal: Daughter of Frieda Hammond-Carmer and Jeff Matties ... Siblings: Jessica Carmer (31), Jon Carmer (26), Taylor Matties (24), Britt Carmer (15), Addison Carmer (12), and Everly Matties (10 months) ...Father, Jeff, and sisters, Jessica and Taylor, played sports at the collegiate level... Participated in community service activities including Relay for Life, Hall House, Little Stags, and Girl Scout Day... Major is Nursing with a minor in Management.
