Fairfield University Athletics

2021 Season: Jolanda Richter netted five goals and an assist during the 2021 fall campaign, posting a point in six of her 22 appearances. Her first point of the season came off an assist in the Stags win over Albany. She split her points pretty evenly with three points in non-conference play, two points in NEC action, and four points in NEC tournament games. She earned a goal in the semifinal match against Rider and followed with another goal in the title match with LIU. Richter enjoyed success in the classroom, earning NFHCA National Academic Squad laurels.

2020-21 Season: Richter appeared in five of the team’s seven games during the season, coming off the bench for each of those contests. The midfielder contributed on both sides of the pitch, marking key offensive players in addition to pushing the Stags attack forward. She secured one assist on the season, setting up the team’s second goal in a 3-0 win against Bryant University. Richter was also credited with a pair of shots in the second Sacred Heart game, putting one of those attempts on goal.

2019 Season: Richter showed success both on the field and in the classroom in 2019. She earned a spot on the NFHCA Scholars of Distinction team as well as a spot on the NEC Academic team. She started the final seven games of the season including the team’s four postseason games. She appeared in all 22 games with 12 of those coming as a starter. She was part of the team’s defensive unit that developed into the best defense in the NEC, allowing a season-low 1.15 goals per conference game. She also was part of a unit that finished 10^th in the nation for goals against average (1.16) and shutouts per game (0.23). The defender was also active offensively with 12 shots, seven of which were on goal.

2018 Season: Richter was one of a dozen Stags to play in all 21 games in 2018, coming off the bench for each one of those dates. The freshman was an impact player who contributed mostly in the midfield with added support in the circle. She ended her season with a goal for two points, picking up the second goal in a 2-0 decision over UMass Lowell.  She took four shots during the regular season and added one more in the MAAC tournament game against Monmouth.


Before Fairfield: Jolanda Richter is a midfielder from Berlin, Germany where she had success with her club team, TuSLichterfelde.  Richter was a member of the Berlin Elite team for five years winning the Berlin Championship three times.  She was also an East German Champion in 2015 and came in second place in 2018.
