Biography

2017: MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. All-MAAC First Team. NFHCA All-Mideast Region Second Team. MAAC All-Championship Team. MAAC All-Academic Team. Played and started in all 21 games. Scored two goals and added one assist for five total points on the year.

2016: All-MAAC First Team… MAAC All-Academic Team… Earned 18 starts while making 19 appearances for the Stags this season. She posted right points off four goals with two of those coming by way of penalty stroke. The defender also added one defensive save on the season. 

2015: All-MAAC Second Team...MAAC All-Academic Team...MAAC All-Championship Team...MAAC Championship MVP...Buckley appeared in all 19 games for the Stags and earned 17 starts at defense. She ranked fourth on the team with 12 points off five goals and two assists, and added two defensive saves this season. As the central defender, she was a key reason for the Stags MAAC Championship run and scored the lone goal in the NCAA Tournament game at Boston University.

2014: America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Buckley made her collegiate debut against Drexel. She competed in 10 contests for Fairfield on the defensive line. Buckley also saw action against Hofstra, Penn, Sacred Heart, Siena, Monmouth, Delaware, New Hampshire, Lehigh, and Harvard. 

Before Fairfield: Buckley comes to Fairfield after graduating from Shenendehowa High School where she was a member of the school’s field hockey team. While there, the back served her teammates as captain and helped Shenendehowa capture the 2013 New York State Class A Championship. She was named to the All-Tournament team. As a junior, she was also a team captain and led the team to the Section II finals. She captured Suburban Council First Team All-Star accolades and was honored as a scholar athlete. One year earlier, Buckley was a member of the Section II championship team and was named Scholar Athlete and Suburban Council Honorable Mention. She was also a starting third baseman for the varsity softball team and served as team captain. 

Personal: Daughter of Kris and Dan Buckley... Has three siblings, Ryan, Matt and Kelly...Kelly joined the Stags as a freshman in 2017...Her mother, Kris, played softball at Rutgers and her brother, Matt, played rugby at Bentley.
