Biography

2020-21 Season: Emily Halderson garnered several postseason honors following her performance on the pitch in 2020-21. The defender earned All-Mideast second team honors from the NFHCA and also was a member of the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) first team. Halderson anchored a defensive unit that allowed five goals in seven games and posted four shutouts. Offensively, Halderson registered two goals and one assist, including a goal and an assist in the regular-season finale against Sacred Heart. She also scored a goal in the season opening 3-0 decision over Albany.

2019 Season: Halderson anchored one of the nation’s top defenses as the Stags finished 10th in the nation for goals against average (1.16) and shutouts per game (0.23). She received placement on the All-NEC second team for her efforts in 2019. Halderson started all 22 of her appearances as a defender, one of three Stags to be in the starting lineup for every game in 2019. Halderson collected three defensive saves during the campaign, one against Boston College, Sacred Heart, and Rider. All three of those games resulted in Fairfield wins by one goal. She also contributed offensively with three points, recording an assist against Northeastern and securing her only goal in a 3-1 win against Merrimack.

2018 Season: Halderson started all 21 of her games as anchored one of the conference’s top defenses. She was part of the Stags defense that earned seven shutouts and allowed 1.39 goals per game. Halderson also contributed on the offensive third of the pitch, setting up one goal in a 4-1 victory against Holy Cross. She also took three shots during the season which came in consecutive games, two at Rider and one more at Columbia. She was named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) second team as a defender to cap her season.


2017: MAAC All-Academic Team. Played in 13 games, starting one. Registered one shot.

2016: Did not appear in any contests for the Stags. 

Before Fairfield: As a member of the Central Bucks West field hockey team, the Bucks completed a perfect 18-0 season in 2015 and were conference champions. The team also made the state playoffs in both 2012 and 2015. Halderson was named to the Suburban One All League Second Team and graduated with High Honors.

Personal: Daughter of Lauri and Greg Halderson… Has two siblings, Jake (16) and Mya (13)… Her mother Lauri played soccer at LaSalle… Major is Psychology.
