Maddy Sposito joins the Stags for her second season as an assistant.

Sposito, a native of Ridgefield, Conn., was among the top goalkeepers in the history of Fairfield field hockey. She will be using her expertise to work with the Stags' goalies and defensive unit this fall. A three-year starting goalkeeper for the Stags, she holds a fourth place spot in the Fairfield career record book for number of games played (50) totaling 3370.39 career minutes. She tallied 23 career wins, 271 career saves, and a save percentage of .708. Sposito finished with a career 2.33 goals against average. As a senior, she posted a career-high three shutouts, 95 saves, career-high 15 saves against New Hampshire, and earned a spot on the America East All-Championship Squad.
 
During her junior campaign, she ranked as high as 10th in the national field hockey rankings with a goals against average of 1.27. That season she also finished in the top-25 nationally with a save percentage of .694. As a sophomore, she allowed just 37 goals in more than 1,100 minutes of play.
 
Sposito competed with the U.S. National Indoor Team for the second consecutive year this past summer. She allowed no goals in her game for the U.S. National Team on August 4, in a 7-1 decision over Canada.
