2025 Season: Catherine Fitzgerald capped her junior campaign with a spot on the All-NEC second team, her first berth to the postseason squad. She garnered that honor following strong showing during the 2025 campaign, one that ended with two goals for four points through her 20 games on the pitch. Both of her goals came against Rider during the regular-season meeting, a total which also included the game winner. In addition to her offensive success, she also contributed to the team’s success from the midfielder position. Fitzgerald finished the campaign with 20 shots, sending 10 of those attempts on target.

2024 Season: Fitzgerald gained entry to all 21 games in 2024, starting the 16 of her last 17 appearances. She made contributions on both sides of the midfield stripe including an impressive six points over four games. She posted her first point of the campaign with an assist in a 2-1 setback against LaSalle but followed up with a goal in a 2-1 win over New Hampshire. Later in the season, she added a goal in the team’s decision over Merrimack before closing her account with an assist against Merrimack. She capped her season with a berth to the NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

2023 Season: Fitzgerald moved into a regular role right from the start, eventually playing in all 18 games as a rookie. She took just two shots from the defender position but connected on one of those attempts. She tallied her first collegiate goal in the Bryant match, her third career appearance. She also added an assist later in the season, setting up one of the team’s two goals in a victory against LIU. Her play in the defensive third contributed  to the Stags allowing one goal or less in 14 of their 18 matches.

Why Fairfield?: "I chose Fairfield because of the field hockey program and the academic opportunities. Fairfield gave me the chance to compete at the collegiate level while providing the academic support and opportunities I needed to excel in my academics and prepare for my future career, which was especially important to me as a student-athlete."

Personal: Her parents are Tim and Wendy. Her siblings are Caroline and Sean. Her major is public health.
