2016: MAAC All-Academic Byrne came off the bench in all 10 of his appearances, often one of the first called upon by the coaching staff. Four of his 10 games were against conference opponents, namely Siena, Rider, Manhattan, and Canisius. Eight of his 10 games played came on the road with the exceptions being Hartwick and Manhattan.  The defender bolstered the team’s defensive effort throughout the season.

2015: MAAC All-Academic Byrne was one of the team’s key reserves last season and made the most of his time on the pitch. The defender started three games and came off the bench 14 times. His starts came over a five-game stretch, including at Iona, at Marist, and at Quinnpiac. His two goals were the result of his play as a reserve, beginning with the game-winning goal in a 1-0 decision against Canisius. Two games later, Byrne tallied the team’s lone goal in a 2-1 overtime setback at Marist. He took six shots during the campaign with three being on goal. 

Before Fairfield: Kevin Byrne transferred to Fairfield University after spending his freshman season at Florida Atlantic University. He played in 14 of the team’s 16 games including 11 starts and tallied one goal for two points in those contests. He scored his goal off a header following a corner kick against South Carolina in mid-October. He played soccer at Seminole Ridge High School where he ranked among the team’s leading scorers throughout his career. He finished his four-year stay with 15 goals and 14 assists for 44 total points.  He played with the Florida Olympic Development team where he helped the 1996 boys team capture a 3-0 win in the national championship game against Michigan.
