Fairfield University Athletics

2021: Alexa Ortman is playing her first season with Fairfield after transferring from LaSalle University following the 2020 season. The outfielder appeared in 30 games for the Stags, picking up 10  hits and scoring 10 runs while on the diamond. She posted two three-game hitting streaks going 3 for 11 with three runs scored between March 27-30. She also posted another three gamer with four hits in nine at-bats between April 10-20. Her two RBI in 2021 came against Manhattan in the season opener while her other was a home run at Canisius on March 27. She’s been effective on the base paths as a base stealer as well, collecting eight in nine attempts. She picked up 18 putouts in 18 chances as an outfielder.

Before Fairfield: Alexa Ortman comes to Fairfield after competing in 10 games for La Salle University during the 2020 season, batting .371 with 13 hits in 10 starts. She was a successful career at Central Bucks South High School where she batted .413 over her final three seasons with the program. She averaged nearly 1.5 hits per game played in high school, registering 97 hits in 67 appearances. The outfielder garnered 21 extra base hits over those three seasons with 14 doubles, five triples, and two home runs. She was a three-time Suburban One Conference First Team player.
