Before Fairfield
Eric Mejia was the starting point guard at junior college power Monroe University this past season. He was selected as a Third Team All-American after guiding the Mustangs to a 26-8 overall record. His squad won the East District Championship and reached the second round of the NJCAA National Tournament. Mejia paced the team with 13.7 points per game, sparked by an electric .432 shooting percentage from three-point range, and was also Monroe's top facilitator with 4.5 assists per game. The 6-3 guard filled out his statsheet with 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest.
