Biography

2020: Started two of eight appearances in 2020…Picked up a hit against UNC Greensboro (2/22)…Drove in a run against Ohio State (3/8).

2019: MAAC All-Academic Team…Appeared in 18 games with three starts…Launched a pinch hit two-run homer in the win at Brown (3/16)…Also tallied a pinch hit single against Canisius (4/27).

2018: MAAC All-Academic Team….Started 11 games and made 28 appearances…Had an eight-game hitting streak where he batted .407 (11-for-27) and scored seven runs (2/25 – 3/13)…Drove in a run in back-to-back games against Iona with only one official at-bat (5/4 – 5/5)…Scored three times at North Florida (3/10).

BEFORE FAIRFIELD: A slugging infielder from nearby Danbury, Cerno was a career .344 hitter for the Hatters, with 96 hits in his four-year career. Cerno was an All-West FCIAC selection three times, including during a breakout junior campaign when he hit .456 with two home runs in 21 games…He was an All-FCIAC Honorable Mention and a three-time All-FCIAC West Division selection…He was also selected to play in the Senior All-Star game.

PERSONAL: Born on May 11, 1998…Parents are Emil and Karen…High Honor Roll selection in high school…Major is marketing.
