Phil Murray begins his fifth season on the Stags soccer staff as an assistant coach. In addition to day to day program operations duties, training the players, scouting and video analysis of opposition, Phil also serves as the recruiting coordinator for the Stags.
Before arriving at Fairfield, Murray spent the previous three seasons as the top assistant coach at NCAA Division II Florida Southern College.
Murray played his collegiate career at Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he tallied 20 goals and 5 assists. He captained the Eagles in both his junior and senior year, and was twice named to the All-Conference First Team, in addition to being an NSCAA All-Region and All-American selection as a senior. During his time the Eagles posted a record of 52-17-7, winning 2 conference and 3 regional championships and making 3 National Tournament appearances, including a run to the Elite 8 in 2003.
Prior to his collegiate career at Embry-Riddle, Murray spent time in the youth ranks of Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers and Stockport County.
Murray earned a Bachelors of Science in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle in 2005, and a Masters of Business Administration in International Business (MBA) from Florida Southern College in 2007. He is licensed by United States Soccer Federation, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and The Football Association.
