Fairfield University Athletics

 

Since its inception in 2001, a total of 19 Stags have been drafted or signed into the Major League Lacrosse ranks. NTen of those Stags suited up for Head Coach Andy Copelan during his tenure as the leader of Fairfield Men's Lacrosse. Since Spencer Steele was tabbed by the Bridgeport Barrage in the 2001 MLL Inaugural Draft, nine more Stags have been selected in the Collegiate Draft, with seven selected in the Supplemental Draft and two signed as undrafted free agents. In total, the roster includes four Fairfield Athletics Hall of Famers.

Greg Downing is the only first round pick (in the Collegiate Draft) in Fairfield history as the sixth overall pick by the Los Angeles Riptide in 2007.

Many of the above alumni were also selected in Supplemental Drafts, traded, or signed as free agents later in their MLL careers.
