Stags Sit Sixth Entering Final Round at MAAC Championship

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Kevin Duncan’s 74 (+2) led the Fairfield University men’s golf team in round two action at the 2017 MAAC Championship. At +5 for the weekend, the sophomore will enter Sunday’s final round at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course just four strokes off the pace.

Duncan’s 74 for the Stags today was the best round by a Fairfield golfer so far this weekend. He is currently tied for third place on the individual leaderboard. Eric Austin shares 11th place with a 155 (75-80) two-round score, while Alex Ferrante vaulted into the top-20 with a 76 (+4) this morning. Thomas Urciuoli (84-81-165) and Alex Taylor (87-80-167) both improved by multiple strokes on their second trip through Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.

As a unit, the Stags are in sixth place with a 625. Fairfield is five strokes behind fifth-place Monmouth and five shots ahead of seventh-place Iona. Led by current individual leader Jake Holt (+1), Siena tops the team leaderboard at 608 with Saint Peter’s (615) and Manhattan (616) giving chase.

The 54-hole MAAC Championship concludes tomorrow in Lake Buena Vista. The action from Championship Sunday action will be broadcast live on ESPN3 beginning at 10 a.m.
