FARMVILLE, Va. – The Fairfield University men’s golf team played 36 holes to on Saturday afternoon to open play at the Manor Intercollegiate. Led by a 151 (+7) from Kevin Duncan, the Stags will enter Sunday’s final round at The Manor Golf Club in 13th place.
Duncan’s 151 (73-78) slots him tied for 38th place individually but just four strokes out of the top 20 in the 90-golfer field. Alex Ferrante matched Duncan’s team-best 73 in the opening round and carded an 80 in the second trip through the course to post a 153 (+9). Alex Taylor (156), Kellen Jordan (159) and Eric Austin (167) also hit the links for the Stags today in Virginia.
Tournament host Longwood leads the field through 36 holes with a 576. The Lancers are seven strokes in front of second-place Dartmouth. On the individual leaderboard, Longwood’s Jordan Boulton and Poom Pattaropong of James Madison have set the place at 141 (-3).
Sunday’s final round will tee off beginning at 8 a.m.
