NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Scott Daly of the Fairfield University men’s cross country team has qualified for the USA Track & Field Junior Outdoor Championships in the 10,000-meter run. Daly, the first Stag to ever qualify for the event, clocked in with a time of 31:48 as Fairfield competed at the CCSU Invitational on Saturday.
“Our spring season is about continuing to work hard and improving for the upcoming fall,” said Head Coach Brendan Rickert. “Scott qualifying for Junior Nationals is a testament to the commitment that he and all of our student-athletes have shown to our growing program.”
Daly will head to Clovis, Calif. for the USA Track & Field Junior Outdoor Championships on June 24-26. The annual event is a national showcase for track and field performers aged 19 and younger.
