Friends of Athletics Announce First Stagiving Day Athletics Challenge

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Thursday, April 21 is Stagiving Day and the first annual Athletics Challenge, a day of giving fueled by the power of social media and online collaboration. The challenge is opened to all alumni, family and friends of athletics and will feature a 24-hour campaign that will directly benefit Fairfield University’s varsity and club sport programs.

“We are excited to host the first Stagiving Day Athletics Challenge”, said Fairfield Director of Athletics Gene Doris.  “Connecting with our alumni and friends through our social media platforms will be a unique, fun opportunity to give back to our varsity programs. I hope that our supporters will accept the challenge and join us on this special day.”

Throughout the day coaches and student-athletes will make a visible presence on their team’s social media pages. This year, each team has the opportunity to win different titles, including:

Highest Amount Raised
Most Gifts Given
Highest Alumni Participation
Highest Parent Participation
Highest Student Participation
Double Dippers (those who give more than one gift)

Alumni, family and friends of Fairfield Athletics are encouraged make a gift of any amount to the team of their choosing starting on April 21 at 12:00 a.m. Those interested in joining the challenge can make their gift at https://www.fairfield.edu/stagiving. All supporters are encouraged to share a picture or message on social media using the #Stagiving or #AthleticsChallenge hashtags.
