FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The New York Mets will once again host Fairfield University Night at Citi Field as the Mets host the division rival Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 fans to purchase tickets through the Fairfield group will receive a customized Mets’ hat featuring the Fairfield Stags logo!
Specially-priced Fairfield University seating is available in the Big Apple Reserved Section for $20. Fans are invited to meet at McFadden’s at Citi Field prior to the game, and are encouraged to get to their seats prior to the first pitch, which will once again be thrown by Lucas the Stag!
Two buses exclusively for current Fairfield students will head to Citi Field from Barone Campus Center at 4 p.m. and head back to campus 15 minutes after the game concludes. Current students can reserve a seat on a first come, first serve basis. An e-mail was sent to all current students on Sept. 14. If you are a current student that did not receive the e-mail and would like to reserve a seat on the bus, please contact stagsathletics@fairfield.edu.
“After the success of last year’s event, we’re excited to continue our partnership with the New York Mets,” said Jennifer Anderson, Vice President for Marketing and Communications. “Fairfield University has a tremendous base of alumni, fans and supporters in New York City, and it is always a special occasion when we can bring them all together at a venue like Citi Field.”
Last September, more than 700 students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends gathered at Citi Field for the inaugural Fairfield University Night. The game began with Lucas the Stag throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Lucas spent the morning and afternoon visiting landmarks and Fairfield alumni in New York City, including an appearance on NBC’s Today Show.
