FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University women’s swimming and diving team fell to Sacred Heart 145.5-113.5 on Sunday afternoon.
Grace Goddard paced the Stags with two individual victories of her own. In the 1000y Freestyle she finished five seconds ahead of second place with a time of 11:25.25. Again in the 200y Butterfly she was five seconds ahead of the next best swimmer clocking in at 2:14.65.
Senior Kelly Mulligan added a victory in the 200y Backstroke with a time of 2:13.28. She also placed second in the 100y Butterfly (1:04.86).
Donna Lam had a few top three finishes of her own with a win in the 200y IM (2:17.54), a second place finish in the 500y Freestyle (5:34.48), and a third place finish in the 50y Freestyle (26.07). Brianna Thompson had a good outing at Sacred Heart posting three third-place finishes. In the 100y Backstroke she finished in 1:05.71, the 200y Backstroke (2:19.54), and the 200y IM (2:22.62).
Next up, Fairfield will face Iona on Saturday, January 30. It will be their final meet before the MAAC Championships begin on February 10.
