Atkinson-Wignall, Fairfield Swimming & Diving Alums Participate in SWIM Across the Sound

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Head Coach Janelle Atkinson-Wignall was among members of the Fairfield University swimming and diving community to participate in the 2015 SWIM Across the Sound this past weekend. The team of Stags raised more than $4,000 for the St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation.

All donations from the event, which has raised more than $250,000 to date collected by more than 120 swimmers, help to fund the St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation’s cancer prevention, support, and education programs. It is the seventh consecutive year in which at least one group of Fairfield swimming alumni have teamed up to make the 16-mile swim across Long Island Sound from Port Jefferson, N.Y. to Bridgeport, Conn.

In addition to Atkinson-Wignall, this year’s Fairfield team consisted of Frank Vitulli ’04, Michael Kennedy ’02, Jonathan Reddy ’96 and Chris Dykeman.
