FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Senior Kelly Mulligan and junior Daniel Pires were each recognized by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for their stellar performances last week. Mulligan was named the MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Pires was named the Men’s Diver of the Week.
Mulligan led the charge in Fairfield’s win over the Crusaders on Saturday. The senior posted individual victories in the 100y backstroke (1:02.30), 200y backstroke (2:12.87), and the 200 IM (2:15.79).
Pires claimed victories in both diving events. In the 1-meter dive he scored 289.80 and in the 3-meter scored 287.10. The junior has been outstanding throughout this young season already posting personal bests in both diving events. He has also placed first in both diving events at each of the last three meets for the Stags.
Both teams will be back in the pool on Friday night at Marist College.
