EDISON, N.J. – The Fairfield University men's tennis team was selected to finish fifth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in 2015, according to the head coaches' preseason poll.
The Fairfield men's tennis team placed fifth in the poll with 35 points, behind Monmouth (61), Marist (55), Quinnipiac (46), and Niagara (43). After falling to top-seeded Marist in the MAAC Tournament semifinals last year, the Stags return All-MAAC First Team No. 2 Singles performer Ofir Solomon along with MAAC All-Academic Team selections Cameron Amyot and Tyler Parks.
St. Peter’s finished sixth, with 23 points, while Siena (16) and Rider (9) rounded out the poll.
The men’s tennis teams has yet to compete in a dual match this season. The Stags' first match of the year is on Friday, January 30 against NJIT at the Solaris Club in Stamford, Conn.
The 2015 MAAC Men’s and Women's Tennis Championships will take place at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J. on April 25-26.
