Three teams of former Fairfield University swimmers will be participating in 27th SWIM Across the Sound Marathon on Saturday, August 2. It is the sixth consecutive year in which at least one group of Fairfield swimming alumni have teamed up to make the 16-mile swim across Long Island Sound from Port Jefferson, N.Y. to Bridgeport, Conn.
The Stags will be competing as part of the Fifth Annual University Challenge which will also feature teams representing Bryn Mawr and Pace. The University Challenge was formed by SWIM Marathon Race Director Liz Fry after seeing former Stags swimmers participate as Fairfield University Alumni in 2009.
Each team has set a fundraising goal, with all money raised going to benefit St. Vincent’s Medical Foundation and their cancer education, screening, and prevention programs. If you would like to support the Stags, please visit the team pages by using the links below.
