BOSTON, Mass. -- The men's and women's cross country teams posted solid performances throughout the day as the Stags competed at the New England Championships. The men's team finished 23rd in the varsity 8K race, while the women's squad secured 25th in the varsity 5k race.
Sam Daly was the men's top finisher, crossing the finish line with a time of 25:37.2. Keith DeBlock was next in line with a time of 25:51.2, while Nolan Parsley was the team's number three finisher by finishing the race in 26:02.7. Michael Flanagan was fourth among his teammates at 26:15.2 and Jake Ruskan was fifth in 26:26.8.
The women's top finisher was Charlotte Molly, who ended her 5k run with a time of 18:52.10. Maureen Crimmins came in next at 19:21.3, while Stephane Vickers (19:29.4) and Jacqueline Willsey (19:30.3) were separated by less than a second. Danielle Willsey collected a time of 19:32.3 for the Stags.
"The team ran well today," said Head Coach Brendan Rickert. "We thought both programs could have finished higher but it wasn't meant to be today. I'm ok with that however as we have yet to start our taper so we should only keep improving from here. The team is in a good spot for performing well at the MAAC championships in 20 days. We're very excited for the championship part of our season."
