The Fairfield University cross country team kept their legs fresh during the offseason by competing in six different meets throughout the spring and turning several strong performances.
The Stags opened the spring at the Richard Stockton State Invitational on March 23. In the 5K, Hillary Maxson recorded a time of 19:02.43 while Molly Leidig had a time of 20:29.70. In the 1500m, Kathleen Woods posted a time of 5:09.92.
At the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational on April 6, several Stags turned in excellent efforts. In the 5K, Maureen Crimmins had a time of 18:28.91, followed by Kelsey Murphy in 18:40.12 and Juli Bassett in 19:44.67. In the 1500m, Leidig clocked a time of 5:13.71 while Deirdre Simms finished the event in 5:36.34. In the 800m, Danica Ceballos stopped the clock in 2:30.84.
At the Widener Invitational on April 19, Cate Forte recorded a time of 4:51.88 in the 1500m while Michael Therrien posted a time of 2:26.65 in the 800m. At the Yale University Invitational on April 28, Crimmins ran a 3K of 10:46.86 while Maggie MacKenzie clocked a time of 5:00.09 in the 1500m. In the 800m, Woods crossed the line in 2:25.16.
At the Rider Invitational on April 13, MacKenzie posted a time of 19:22.08. The 4x800 relay of Forte, Therrien, Ceballos, and Woods recorded a time of 9:52.64.
