First Round Results
The Fairfield University women’s golf team teed off the spring portion of its schedule on Sunday at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. In a cold and sleet-filled first round the Stags shot a team score of 339 and are in 21st at the 28 team event.
Emma Ritzmann is the Stags leader after 18 holes, shooting a round of 82, which is good for 70th place. Megan Feeney is three strokes back of her teammate with an opening 85, and is tied for 98th place. Olivia Brooks, Elly Lemons and Katherine Rockwell all shot scores of 86 on Sunday and are part of a tie for 105th place.
Boston College is the team leader after 18 holes, shooting an opening day 302. Longwood’s Hannah Pierce and Delaware’s Annie Bolsby shot +2 rounds of 73 and are tied for the individual lead.
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) associate member Boston University is 12th after shooting a 320 team score on Sunday. Future conference members Quinnipiac University (24th, 345) and Monmouth University (27th, 356) are also playing at the event.
