The mid-February event will be the last for seniors Cacky Keating, Paul Bimmler, and Ryan Krebs. Keating placed fifth in the women’s 100y fly and 12th in the 200y fly while Bimmler placed seventh in the men’s 100y back, ninth in the 200y back, and 12th overall in the 50y freestyle at MAACs one year ago. On the boards last season, Krebs placed fifth on the men’s 3-meter and 11th on the 1-meter.
Sophomore Ashlee Steinberger looks to defend her MAAC Championship title on the women’s 3-meter board. Steinberger was named the 2012 MAAC Championship Most Outstanding Diver for her efforts at the meet. She has been named MAAC Diver of the Week twice this season, most recently on January 29.
Junior Suzy Lawlor is a contender in the women's breaststroke events, owning the fifth-fastest time in the 100 breaststroke this season. Lawlor placed sixth in the 200y breaststroke and ninth in the 100y breaststroke at the MAAC Championships last season.
Junior Margaret Osmulski had a solid MAAC Championship last season finishing sixth in the 400y IM, seventh in the 1650y free, and ninth in the 200y IM and will challenge again in those events. Freshman Kelly Mulligan will look to make a splash in her first MAAC Championships in the IM events while sophomore Meredith LaBerge will be counted on in the distance events.
Sophomore Tyler Conley will challenge for a medal in the men's sprint freestyle events. Conley placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 100 freestyle last season. Entering the MAAC Championships, he has the fifth-fastest 50 freestyle time and the ninth-fastest 100 freestyle time in the MAAC this season.
Rookie Connor Daly will also challenge in the men's butterfly and individual medley events. Daly, entering his first MAAC Championships, holds the sixth-best time in the MAAC in both the 400 IM and 200 fly this season. Juniors Cody Parker and Kevin Greener, who are both having solid season, will be counted on in the distance events for the Stags.
There will be one change on the men’s side as Bryant University will be participating in the event for the first time as an associate member. The Bulldogs swimming and diving team was accepted as an associate member in September to round out the field of 10 men’s swimming and diving teams that will compete at the MAAC Championships.
