FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Head Coach Bill Farley announced the swimming & diving team captains for the upcoming 2012-13 season. Paul Bimmler and Rich Straub will captain the men’s team while Cacky Keating will captain the women’s squad.
Bimmler, who will begin his senior campaign in the fall, holds several program records. At the 2012 MAAC Championships, he placed seventh overall in the 100 back and won the B final of the men’s 200y back to place ninth overall.
Straub, who will be a junior in the fall, has competed at the MAAC Championships in each of the last two seasons and scored numerous points for the Stags during the dual meet season.
Keating, who enters her senior season in the fall, is a multiple record holder for the Stags. At MAACs this past season, she placed fifth in the 100 butterfly and 12th in the 200 butterfly. She is also involved with the Stags Swimming Lessons Program.
Both squads placed sixth overall at the 2012 MAAC Championships. The men's team went 5-4 in dual meets while the women’s team went 5-5 on the year.
