FAIRFIELD, Conn. –
The Fairfield University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams fell to Fordham University this evening at the RecPlex. The men’s team fell 177-121 while the women’s team was edged 166-123 as three program records, two men’s and one women’s, fell.
 
Rookie Connor Daly set a pair of records on the night. In the men’s 200m butterfly, Daly posted a time of 2:12.21 to finish as the runner-up and beat the previous standard by nearly five seconds. In the 100m butterfly, Daly broke his own program record with a winning time of 59.40 seconds. Daly took third in the 200m IM with a time of 2:13.78.
 
Daly was also on the winning 200m medley relay with Paul Bimmler, Rich Straub, and Tyler Conley which clocked a time of 1:51.66.
 
Conley won two individual events for the Stags, capturing the 50m freestyle with a time of 24.21 seconds and the 100m freestyle with a time of 53.75 seconds.
 
Junior Cody Parker captured the 200m freestyle with a time of 1:59.72. He was also the runner-up in the 400m freestyle with a time of 4:17.93.
 
Straub was the runner-up in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:35.17 and was third in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:11.60. Junior Kevin Greener was third in the 800m free with a time of 9:00.45 and third in the 400m freestyle with a time of 4:21.96. Sophomore Chris Weaver was third in the 100m back with a personal best of 1:04.38.
 
Fairfield took the top three spots in the men’s 3-meter diving event. Sophomore Evan Barr posted a winning score of 217.88. Senior Ryan Krebs was the runner-up with a score of 211.35 while sophomore Will Sullivan was third with a mark of 201.82. Sophomore Joe Dowling had a mark of 188.18 while junior Brien Bates had a mark of 140.70.
 
In the men’s 1-meter, the Stags took three of the top four spots. Krebs was the runner-up with a score of 211.35 while Barr was third with a score of 197.85. Bates was fourth with a mark of 191.10. Dowling had a score of 183.90 while Sullivan posted a 168.90.
 
In the women’s 100m breaststroke, junior Suzy Lawlor was the runner-up after she swam a time of 1:16.34 which bested the program record of 1:16.74 set by Lauren Kennedy in 2009. She also took third in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2:48.26
 
Senior Cacky Keating won the 200m fly with a time of 2:28.83. She also posted a time of 1:07.84 in the 100m fly.
 
Freshman Kelly Mulligan was the runner-up in both the 100m back with a time of 1:08.32 and the 200m back with a time of 2:26.21. She also posted the top time in the 200m IM with a time of 2:27.92, just .41 seconds off the program record.
 
Sophomore Meredith LaBerge was third in the 800m free with a time of 9:36.53. Freshman Liz Avery was third in the 50m free with a time of 28.93 seconds.
 
On the 1-meter, sophomore Ashlee Steinberger was the runner-up with a score of 200.85 while sophomore Lauren Kemple took third with a score of 174.00. Freshman Demi Marathas was fourth with a mark of 173.55. On the 3-meter, Steinberger earned first place points with a mark of 204.53. Marathas had a personal best of 173.60 while Kemple had a mark of 169.87.
