FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Head Coach Bill Farley announced the men’s and women’s swimming and diving team captains for the 2011-12 season. Samantha Distler, Caroline Menapace, and Michelle Yoshida will serve as the women’s tri-captains while Brendan Sarpu and Stefan Toi will co-captain the men’s team.
Distler, Menapace, and Yoshida will enter their final season with the Stags in the fall. Distler is a two-time MAAC All-Academic selection while Menapace is active in the Fairfield University Swimming Lessons Program. Yoshida is the most decorated swimmer in program history, having collected eight MAAC Championship titles while setting numerous program records in the process.
Sarpu and Toi will enter their senior campaigns in the fall as well. Both are ECAC qualifiers and program records holders. Sarpu is a part of several Stags relay records while Toi holds Fairfield’s record in the 200y fly and is a part of relay records as well.
